Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TetherBit, developed and operated by TetherBit ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using TetherBit, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

Beta Program Terms

Beta Access

TetherBit is currently in a closed beta testing program launching February 10, 2026. The beta period will run for approximately six weeks, though the exact timeline may vary.

Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the beta program
• You must have a compatible iOS device
• You must agree to provide feedback and usage data as outlined in our Privacy Policy

Beta User Responsibilities

By participating in the beta program, you agree to:

• Use the app daily or near-daily
• Report bugs, errors, or friction points you encounter
• Provide honest feedback via Discord, forms, or email
• Allow the app to automatically send anonymous daily usage summaries via webhook
• Leave an App Store review if you feel the app has earned it
• Allow us to use your feedback and testimonials (anonymously or with permission) for marketing purposes

No Compensation or Credit

Beta testing is completely voluntary and unpaid. By participating, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You will not receive any financial compensation, equity, or ownership in TetherBit
• You will not receive professional credit, portfolio material, or formal documentation of your participation
• Your feedback and contributions grant you no rights to the app, its features, or future development
• This is not a professional consulting opportunity or business partnership
• Beta participation is intended for individual personal use only—not for organizations, agencies, or companies

If you're looking to add professional experience to your portfolio or resume, this is not the right opportunity.

Beta Application and Acceptance

Submitting a beta testing application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. We reserve the right to:

• Accept or decline any applicant for any reason
• Limit the number of beta testers
• Prioritize applicants based on our testing needs
• Remove accepted beta testers at any time

Beta testing is open to individuals only. We do not accept applications from companies, agencies, or organizations.

Opting Out of Data Collection

You can opt out of anonymous data collection at any time in the app's settings. However, opting out means:

• All local data (goals, habits, routines, streaks) will be deleted from your device
• The app will reset to its initial state
• You will lose access to beta features until you opt back in
• Anonymous usage data already collected cannot be deleted (it's technically impossible to match the anonymous device ID to your identity)

You can opt back in at any time to regain beta access, but you'll be starting fresh with no previous data.

Beta Access Revocation

We reserve the right to remove any user from the beta program at any time, for any reason, without notice. This includes but is not limited to:

• Failure to provide feedback or usage data
• Abusive or inappropriate behavior
• Attempts to reverse engineer or exploit the app
• Violation of these Terms

Beta Data

After the beta program ends, all data stored locally on your device will remain there unless you delete the app or opt out of data sharing. We will retain anonymous usage data collected during the beta for analysis and improvement purposes.

Use of TetherBit

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TetherBit for personal, non-commercial purposes during the beta period.

Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the app for any illegal purpose
• Share your beta access with others
• Attempt to circumvent any app limitations or security measures

No Warranty - Use at Your Own Risk

TetherBit is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied.

This is beta software. It may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features. It may not function as expected. It may crash, lose data, or stop working entirely.

We make no guarantees about:

• The app's availability, reliability, or performance
• The accuracy or completeness of any content
• The app's fitness for any particular purpose
• That the app will be free from errors or interruptions

Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT: READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TetherBit and its developers are not liable for any damages arising from your use of TetherBit, including but not limited to:

• Any harm, injury, or adverse outcome resulting from attempting, completing, or failing to complete goals, habits, or routines tracked in the app
• Physical injury or harm from fitness, health, or wellness goals
• Financial loss from business or financial goals
• Mental or emotional distress
• Loss of data or app functionality
• Any decisions made based on app data or features
• Reliance on the app for accountability or motivation

You are solely responsible for your own goals, actions, and outcomes. TetherBit is a tool for tracking and organization—nothing more. We are not responsible for what you do (or don't do) with it.

Beta Tester Relationship

Beta testers are not employees, contractors, consultants, or partners of TetherBit. There is no business relationship, employment relationship, or partnership created by participating in the beta program. You are simply a user who has agreed to provide feedback.

Medical and Health Disclaimer

TetherBit is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you're tracking health, fitness, or wellness goals:

• Consult a healthcare professional before starting any new fitness or health program
• The app cannot replace professional medical advice
• We are not liable for any health-related outcomes

User Content and Feedback

By participating in the beta program, you grant us permission to:

• Use your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports to improve TetherBit
• Use anonymized examples of goals or habits (with your permission) in marketing materials
• Share screenshots or testimonials (with your explicit consent)

We will not share your personal goals or data without your permission. Anonymous usage data is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Payment and Subscriptions (Future)

The beta version of TetherBit is completely free. No payment is required or collected during the beta period.

After the beta, we may introduce in-app purchases or subscription features. If we do:

• Beta testers will be notified in advance
• Pricing and terms will be clearly disclosed
• You'll have the option to opt in or continue using any available free features

Payment processing will be handled by third-party services (such as Superwall) subject to their own terms and conditions.

Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in TetherBit, including all code, design, graphics, and content, belong to TetherBit. The TetherBit name, logo, and branding are our property.

You may not use our intellectual property without written permission.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use data.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to TetherBit at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the app ends immediately
• Data stored on your device will remain unless you delete the app
• We may retain anonymous usage data as described in our Privacy Policy

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We'll post changes on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of TetherBit after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

If we make significant changes, we'll notify beta testers via email or in-app notification.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
