Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TetherBit, developed and operated by TetherBit ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using TetherBit, you agree to be bound by these Terms. By continuing to use the app after any update, you acknowledge and accept the most current version of these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

Beta Program Terms

Beta Access

TetherBit is currently in an ongoing beta testing program. The initial closed beta period has concluded, and the program continues on a long-term basis. The timeline and scope of the beta program may evolve at our discretion.

Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to participate
• You must have a compatible iOS device
• You must agree to provide feedback and usage data as outlined in our Privacy Policy

Beta User Responsibilities

By participating, you agree to use the app regularly, report bugs and friction points you encounter, provide honest feedback, allow the app to automatically send anonymous daily usage summaries, and allow non-identifying data to be sent to AI model providers as described in our Privacy Policy. You also agree to leave an App Store review if the app has earned it.

No Compensation or Credit

Beta testing is completely voluntary and unpaid. You will not receive financial compensation, equity, professional credit, or any rights to the app or its features. This is not a professional consulting opportunity or business partnership.

Beta Application and Acceptance

Submitting a beta application does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right to accept or decline any applicant for any reason, limit the number of beta testers, and remove accepted beta testers at any time.

Continued Use as Consent

By continuing to use TetherBit after any app update, you acknowledge and agree to any updated Terms and Privacy Policy, including changes related to AI features and data sharing. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the app.

Opting Out of Data Collection

You can opt out of anonymous data collection — including AI data sharing — at any time in the app's settings. However, opting out means all local data will be deleted from your device and the app will reset. Anonymous usage data already collected cannot be deleted.

Use of TetherBit

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TetherBit for personal, non-commercial purposes during the beta period. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or use the app for any illegal purpose.

AI Features

What the AI Does

TetherBit includes an AI-powered chat interface that provides personalized summaries and allows you to create, edit, and manage goals, habits, routines, and programs. Currently, these features are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI model. The AI provider may change at any time, and we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly.

AI Availability and Rate Limiting

Access to AI features is subject to rate limiting. You may not always receive an AI response, and AI availability is not guaranteed. Your ability to use AI features may be restricted based on usage volume or service availability at any given time.

AI Accuracy and Limitations

AI-generated content — including summaries, recommendations, goals, habits, routines, and programs — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. The AI can and does make mistakes. Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for any important health, fitness, financial, or personal decisions.

No Liability for AI Outcomes

TetherBit is not responsible for any positive or negative outcomes resulting from the use of AI features, including but not limited to outcomes from AI-generated recommendations, goals, habits, routines, or programs — whether generated automatically by the AI or built by you with AI assistance. This disclaimer is also displayed within the app. By using AI features, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

Data and AI

By using AI features, you consent to non-identifying, anonymous usage data being sent to third-party AI model providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Opting out of data sharing in Settings will also disable AI features.

No Warranty — Use at Your Own Risk

TetherBit is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. This is beta software. It may contain bugs, crash, lose data, or stop working entirely. AI features may be unavailable, slow, or return incorrect results. We make no guarantees about the app's availability, reliability, performance, AI accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT: READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TetherBit and its developers are not liable for any damages arising from your use of TetherBit, including harm from attempting goals, physical injury from fitness goals, financial loss from financial goals, mental or emotional distress, loss of data, any decisions made based on app data, or any outcomes — positive or negative — resulting from AI-generated or AI-assisted content, recommendations, goals, habits, routines, or programs.

You are solely responsible for your own goals, actions, and outcomes. TetherBit is a tracking and productivity tool — it does not provide professional advice of any kind, and neither does its AI.

Beta Tester Relationship

Beta testers are not employees, contractors, consultants, or partners of TetherBit. There is no business relationship, employment relationship, or partnership created by participating in the beta program.

Medical and Health Disclaimer

TetherBit is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. This includes any content generated by AI features within the app. Consult a healthcare professional before starting any new fitness or health program. We are not liable for any health-related outcomes.

User Content and Feedback

By participating in the beta program, you grant us permission to use your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports to improve TetherBit, and to use anonymized examples (with your permission) in marketing materials. We will not share your personal goals or data without your permission.

Payment and Subscriptions (Future)

The beta version is completely free. After the beta, we may introduce in-app purchases or subscriptions. Beta testers will be notified in advance, and pricing will be clearly disclosed.

Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in TetherBit, including all code, design, graphics, and content, belong to TetherBit. You may not use our intellectual property without written permission.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use data, including data shared with AI service providers.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to TetherBit at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We'll post changes on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of TetherBit after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
